ENGLISH Part I
Time Allowed: 3 Hours
Group-I
Max. Marks: 100
Note: There are THREE sections in the paper i.e. Section A,B and C.
Attempt Section -A on the same paper and return it to the Superintendent within the given time.
No marks will be awarded for Cutting, Erasing or Overwriting. Marks of Identification will lead to UFM Case Mobile Phone etc are not allowed in the examination hall.

1. Write the correct option i.e. A, B, C or D in the empty box provided opposite to each part.

(b) Choose the correct option in meaning to the under lined words.(Book 1- Short Stories, Book III Plays and Poetry)

(c) Each question has four options only one choice is correct.

SECTION-I
Max. Marks: 80
Note: Time allowed for Section –B is 2 Hours and 30 minutes.

2. Write short answer (3-5 lines/sentences) of any six questions in words of your own. (Book I-Short Stories).

3: Write short answers ( 3-5 lines/ sentences) of any Five questions in words of your own. (Book III One Act Plays)

4. Write short answers (3 - lines) stony Four questions in words of your owe (Book III- Poems)     

SECTION II

5. Write a letter to your friend congratulating him on his success in the examination.

OR

Write an application la the Principal of your college to apologies for your misbehavior.

6. Write a story on the moral lesson. 

"Necessity is the Mother of Invention"

 "Greed Is a Curse"

7. (a) Explain the following lines with reference to the context.

in the moments of Asti.

(b) Punctuate the following extract from Book- I.

(c)Use any Five of the follow in airs of words in sentences of your own.

8. Translate the following passage Into Urdu. (Book I, Short Stories)

The child was fairly eating me up with her cold, steady eyes, and no expression on her face whatever. She did not move and seemed, inwardly, quiet; an unusually attractive little thing, and as strong a heifer in appearance. But her face was flushed, she was breathing rapidly, and I realized that she bad a high fever. She had magnificent blonde liars, in profusion. One of those picture children often reproduced in advertising leaflets and the photogravure sections of the Sunday papers.

Candidates whose medium of instruction is English/Foreign Candidates will write an Essay of 300 words on "Importance of Computer"

And there it was-both her tonsils covered with membrane. She had fought valiantly to keep me from knowing her secret. She had been hiding that sore throat for three days at halt and lying to her parents in order to escape just such an outcome. Now truly the was furious She had been on the defensive before but now she attacked. Tried to get off her father's lap and fly at me while tears of defeat blinded her eyes.
