باوجود اس حقیقت کے کہ انگریزی پاکستان میں بہت کم سمجھی اور بولی جاتی ہے یہ پاکستان کی دفتری زبان ہے۔ اس سے انگریزی کی اہمیت بہت بڑھ گئی ہے۔ انگریزی اسلئے بھی اہم ہے۔ کہ تمام اہم علوم کی کتابیں انگریزی میں لکھی گئی ہیں۔ ہمارے ملک میں انگریزی بولنے والے کو سکالر سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ تعلیم کے حصول کےلئے بیرون ملک جانے کےلئے انگریزی کا جانا بہت ضروری ہے۔ کیونکہ انگریزی بین الاقوامی زبان ہے۔ تحقیق اور سائنس کے شعبوں میں ترقی کے لئے انگریزی جاننا نہایت ضروری سمجھا جاتا ہے۔
